Happy Summer, South Fulton!
We all know how hot it is out there, so I’m happy to share some “beat the heat” tips! Despite the heat, summer is the time to get outside or get away. Some of my line sisters and I recently returned from our annual trip, and it was exceptional! We had lots to celebrate: 20 years together in Alpha Kappa Alpha and several milestone birthdays.
We went all the way to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica to find yet again that “Atlanta Influences Everything,” as the saying goes. The music poolside was from Atlanta and there were several familiar faces roaming around—much to our surprise! Local artist Yung Joc was there performing—I usually see him eating with his family at our Nancy’s Pizza location right here in South Fulton at the Camp Creek Marketplace.
We lolled around on the beach and enjoyed the atmosphere at Rick’s Cafe (yes, I jumped!). It was so good to just take a much-needed break. When I returned home to beautiful #SoFu, a guy with the most handsome gap-toothed grin was waiting to welcome me—all the beauty of the green hills paled in comparison to my bright little guy!
