South Fulton homeowner Richard McClendon, Jr., and his father, Richard Sr., hand built this beautiful cedar wood pergola for the son’s home in Atlanta. The space is highlighted by an outdoor fireplace. It is the perfect little hideaway in the tree-lined city backyard.
Flanked by an eight-person hot tub and a whimsical rock garden, the space is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a nightcap on a long summer night!
Tip: With careful planning, you can create your own perfect oasis in a small space!
City of South Fulton resident Raphael Nuonum worked with Designer Kimberly Ormsby to create an outdoor living room. The south-facing deck receives full sun during the day, so the extra-large adjustable umbrella was the first order of business. Anchored by a blue indoor/outdoor rug, new lounge furniture and tables accented with brightly colored pillows finish the space. The homeowners’ plant rack was updated with some bright blue spray paint and, of course, a new grill was in order.
Tip: All-weather drapes provide additional sun protection and privacy when needed.
When you have your family get-togethers this summer and are tight on space, utilize a bar cart to create a beverage station. Using items purchased locally, Ormsby curated the mobile cart with blue- and copper-toned bar accessories. The cart was finished with beautiful colored bottles holding refreshing drinks. Fresh sunflowers finish off the space with a bright touch.
Tip: Brightly colored fresh fruits—think lemons, limes or oranges—add a nice pop of color to spruce up any space!
