Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors is a national charity that offers compassionate care to all those grieving the loss of a military loved one. Participants were greeted by Coach Dan Quinn. The premier event of the summer social season spotlighted world music and honored trailblazers, luminaries, and emerging stars. Including lively music, great performances, and a silent auction of unique items, supporters and patrons came together to celebrate and to sustain NBAF’s rich cultural legacy in the Atlanta community.
The nonprofit organization, dedicated to the eradication of domestic violence, hosted its gala to empower 150 female survivors. A group from Westlake High School visited the historic Beijing to expose students to another culture, language, and educational system. Visiting the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden Palace, they were able to make real connections with their AP social studies courses and historic sites.
The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC) – Atlanta Chapter hosted its inaugural charity golf and tennis event. Organized by a dedicated group of alumnae, the signature event was held at White Columns Country Club in Milton, Ga. The event supports the Every Senior, Every Year campaign.

Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated’s foundation organization recently hosted its signature 2016-2017 Debutante Cotillion at Atlanta Marriott Marquis. "A Prevue of Celestial Pearls" featured 16 high school seniors from schools in DeKalb County, Fulton County and Gwinnett County, and provided scholarships funds.

Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit that provides all-expenses-paid, five-day journeys for children with chronic and terminal illnesses, hosted the trip of a lifetime for 13 children and their families who were VIPs at Disney parks and enjoyed front-row access to fireworks. The philanthropic arm of the Nu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. presented the annual Pink Pizzazz gala "Enchanted Pink Pearls Under the Sea" at the Oceans Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium. The foundation’s signature fundraising event's proceeds supported the chapter’s academic scholarships and community initiatives.
Named for the unique chairs artistically painted and donated by community artists, the event raised funds to support the ongoing needs of the abandoned, abused, and neglected children who now live safely at The Children’s Village at Christian City in Union City.

The Golf Classic took place at The Frog Golf Club in Villa Rica, GA. Proceeds from the event supports the foundation initiatives (maid service, nutrition support and transportation for breast cancer patients while they are undergoing treatment).

South Fulton’s own Juanda Roberts led the 2015-2016 YPL Board, raising $70K for UWGA Kid’s Home Initiative, tackling childhood homelessness. The event featured The Cartel Band and an OMG Booth. YPL is proud that the Kid’s Home Initiative will serve 30 additional families for a year, helping over 50 children.
