A group from Westlake High School visited the historic Beijing to expose students to another culture, language, and educational system. Visiting the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden Palace, they were able to make real connections with their AP social studies courses and historic sites.

Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit that provides all-expenses-paid, five-day journeys for children with chronic and terminal illnesses, hosted the trip of a lifetime for 13 children and their families who were VIPs at Disney parks and enjoyed front-row access to fireworks.
